We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Engineer to join our Engineering Consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical review, coordination, and quality assurance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design deliverables across all project phases.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in electrical design with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, ensuring that all MEP designs are fully coordinated, technically compliant, and aligned with project requirements, local authority regulations, and international engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate MEP design drawings, calculations, technical reports, specifications, BOQs, and shop drawings to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Perform comprehensive design reviews with particular emphasis on electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, earthing, emergency power, and ELV/low-current systems.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to eliminate clashes and achieve fully integrated design solutions.
- Review material submittals, technical data sheets, method statements, RFIs, and technical submissions for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Conduct technical site inspections to verify that installed works conform to approved design documents, specifications, and quality standards.
- Identify design discrepancies, technical risks, and coordination issues, and provide practical engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare technical review comments, site observation reports, NCRs, snag lists, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
- Support the preparation and review of BOQs, technical specifications, engineering calculations, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, international codes and standards, and engineering best practices.
- Provide technical support during design development, tender, construction, testing & commissioning, and project close-out stages.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies, engineering standards, and industry best practices to continuously enhance design quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in MEP Design Consultancy.
- Proven expertise in electrical building services design with sound knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Extensive experience in the design and technical review of MEP systems for commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or large-scale developments.
- Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary design coordination and technical review.
- Strong knowledge of local authority regulations, international codes, and engineering standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office. Experience with design calculation software is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, technical reporting, and communication skills.
- Professional registration or membership (e.g., PE, PMP, CIBSE, ASHRAE, IEEE) is considered an advantage.
