Job Summary
The Senior MEP Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Fire Protection, and ELV works on large-scale construction projects. The role ensures that MEP works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all MEP activities from design coordination through testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Develop and monitor MEP project schedules, budgets, resources, and procurement plans.
- Coordinate MEP works with civil, structural, architectural, façade, and interior fit-out teams.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Manage MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, local authority regulations, international codes, and health and safety standards.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and snag-free project handover.
- Attend client, consultant, and progress meetings, providing regular project status reports.
- Support commercial activities, including variation orders, claims, cost control, and contract administration.
- Mentor and lead project engineers and site teams, promoting a high-performance and safety-focused culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (preferred); Electrical Engineering will also be considered.
- Minimum 15 years of MEP construction experience, including 7+ years in a senior project management role.
- Proven experience delivering 5-star hotels, luxury hospitality developments, high-rise residential/commercial towers, or mixed-use projects.
- Previous experience with a Tier 1 main contractor is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, ELV, BMS, and commissioning processes.
- Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination is preferred.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, commercial, and problem-solving skills.
