Job Description

We are looking for a Senior MEP Pricing & Budgeting Engineer to join our team.

This role is responsible for the end-to-end financial planning, cost estimation, and budgeting of complex MEP systems, ensuring all bids are accurate, competitive, and commercially viable.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical engineering design and commercial feasibility, helping deliver profitable and well-structured project bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs from IFC drawings and BIM models for all MEP services, including HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing, Electrical, and Low Voltage systems
  • Prepare Pre-Tender Estimates (PTE) and comprehensive project budgets aligned with client requirements and market benchmarks
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Maintain an updated database of unit rates, labor costs, and material pricing
  • Identify value engineering opportunities through alternative materials or system proposals without compromising quality or compliance
  • Lead the preparation of technical and commercial tender submissions
  • Attend pre-tender meetings and site visits to assess project scope and logistical requirements
  • Review contract documents to identify commercial risks, technical gaps, and cost overrun exposures
  • Support post-bid activities, including contract negotiations and handover of detailed as-sold budgets and BOQs to the execution team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • 812 years of experience in MEP estimation and budgeting
  • Proven experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems pricing and tendering processes

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel(Macro / VBA knowledge is a plus)
  • Experience with CCS Candy or Bluebeam(required)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit for quantity extraction
  • Strong understanding of international standards such as ASHRAE, NEC, and UPC
  • Familiarity with local regulations and authority requirements, including SBC, NFPA, SEC, and NWC.
