The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Molecular Biologist to lead molecular biology research, experimental design, assay development, nucleic-acid analysis, molecular characterization, laboratory investigations, and scientific innovation.
The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on laboratory expertise with scientific leadership, experimental rigor, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration to develop robust molecular biology methods, solve complex research problems, and translate experimental findings into actionable scientific outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement molecular biology research strategies aligned with organizational scientific objectives.
- Lead molecular biology projects from experimental design through execution, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
- Design, optimize, and validate molecular biology experiments and assays.
- Develop and optimize DNA, RNA, and nucleic-acid based workflows.
- Perform DNA and RNA extraction, purification, quantification, quality assessment, and analysis.
- Conduct polymerase chain reaction, quantitative PCR, reverse-transcription PCR, and related molecular techniques.
- Design and optimize primers, probes, constructs, and molecular assays.
- Support cloning, plasmid preparation, DNA assembly, transformation, and recombinant DNA workflows.
- Perform nucleic-acid amplification, sequencing preparation, genotyping, and molecular characterization activities.
- Support next-generation sequencing workflows and sample preparation where applicable.
- Develop molecular assays for research, diagnostic, therapeutic, or product-development applications as appropriate.
- Establish assay performance characteristics, acceptance criteria, controls, and quality requirements.
- Evaluate assay sensitivity, specificity, precision, reproducibility, robustness, and analytical range where applicable.
- Troubleshoot complex molecular biology experiments and identify technical root causes.
- Investigate unexpected experimental results, assay failures, contamination events, and process deviations.
- Develop corrective actions and optimize protocols to improve experimental reliability.
- Design appropriate positive, negative, internal, and process controls for molecular assays.
- Establish experimental controls and quality checkpoints to ensure scientific validity.
- Develop and maintain detailed laboratory protocols, methods, work instructions, and experimental procedures.
- Ensure experimental procedures are appropriately documented, controlled, and reproducible.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, experimental records, raw data, calculations, and analytical results.
- Analyze molecular biology data using appropriate statistical and scientific methods.
- Interpret complex experimental findings and translate results into clear scientific conclusions.
- Apply appropriate statistical approaches to experimental design, assay development, and data interpretation.
- Collaborate with Bioinformatics teams on sequencing, genomic, transcriptomic, and molecular-data analysis.
- Integrate molecular biology results with genomic, proteomic, cellular, clinical, or other biological datasets where appropriate.
- Support biomarker discovery, molecular profiling, genotyping, and molecular characterization programs.
- Conduct gene-expression analysis and molecular-response studies where applicable.
- Support gene-editing, recombinant DNA, synthetic biology, or advanced molecular biology projects where relevant.
- Contribute to development and optimization of molecular diagnostics and laboratory assays where applicable.
- Support technology-transfer activities for molecular biology methods and assays.
- Transfer validated or established molecular methods between laboratories, teams, sites, or external partners.
- Develop technology-transfer plans, acceptance criteria, training materials, and supporting documentation.
- Support method verification, validation, qualification, and lifecycle management activities.
- Evaluate analytical methods and identify opportunities for improved sensitivity, specificity, throughput, and reproducibility.
- Maintain awareness of emerging molecular biology technologies, instrumentation, reagents, and analytical approaches.
- Evaluate new molecular biology platforms and determine their suitability for research or product-development objectives.
- Support selection and qualification of molecular biology instruments, reagents, consumables, and laboratory technologies.
- Develop experimental plans, study designs, timelines, resource requirements, and project milestones.
- Manage multiple molecular biology projects and prioritize laboratory activities according to scientific and business requirements.
- Coordinate with Laboratory Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other functions.
- Support development of laboratory workflows, sample-management processes, and experimental scheduling.
- Monitor reagent, consumable, equipment, and laboratory-resource requirements.
- Support qualification, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of molecular biology equipment.
- Ensure appropriate controls are maintained for instruments, reagents, samples, and experimental materials.
- Maintain sample traceability, labeling, storage, and chain-of-custody requirements where applicable.
- Support laboratory quality-management processes and compliance activities.
- Follow applicable laboratory safety, biosafety, chemical-safety, and biological-material handling requirements.
- Support compliance with applicable GxP, GLP, quality, ethical, and regulatory requirements where relevant.
- Contribute to method validation, quality investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and laboratory corrective actions where applicable.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and laboratory-quality assessments.
- Prepare scientific reports, technical summaries, presentations, protocols, manuscripts, and research documentation.
- Present experimental findings to scientific, technical, clinical, and management audiences.
- Contribute to scientific publications, conference presentations, patents, research proposals, and other scientific outputs.

The successful candidate should have strong experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, genomics, molecular diagnostics, cell and molecular research, genetic analysis, or related life-sciences disciplines, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, academic research, healthcare, clinical research, or other scientific environments.
The candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology principles.
- Extensive hands-on experience with DNA and RNA workflows.
- Strong experience with PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, and related molecular techniques.
- Experience with nucleic-acid extraction, purification, quantification, and quality assessment.
- Experience designing primers, probes, assays, and molecular experiments.
- Strong understanding of cloning, plasmid, recombinant DNA, or DNA-assembly techniques.
- Experience with sequencing workflows and molecular sample preparation is highly desirable.
- Experience developing, optimizing, verifying, or validating molecular assays.
