Senior network engineers lead the design and deployment of network solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security. They oversee the management of network resources, implement best practices for network reliability, and provide mentorship to junior engineers. They are also responsible for troubleshooting complex network issues and managing cloud services to enhance operational efficiency.

Technical Skills

They possess advanced expertise in networking technologies, including cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), firewall management, and network monitoring tools. They are proficient with various networking hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Aruba, and Fortinet, and have a strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF.

Technical Expertise

• Networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
• Hardware from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, or Palo Alto.
• Tools for monitoring (e.g., Manage Engine, OP Manager).
• Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network).

Key Responsibilities

Network Design and Architecture: Evaluate and enhance the current network infrastructure, designing solutions that ensure high availability, scalability, and optimal performance while integrating cloud services such as Amazon Cloud.

Implementation and Configuration: Lead the installation, configuration, and deployment of networking hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), and VPNs, ensuring adherence to security protocols.

Maintenance and Monitoring: Conduct routine maintenance, monitor network performance using advanced tools like Manage Engine, and ensure uptime meets or exceeds 99.9% to support business operations.

Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including security breaches and hardware failures, providing 24/7 on-call support for critical incidents.

Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Optimization and Upgrades: Analyze network traffic patterns, recommend optimizations for performance and cost efficiency, and lead migration projects to advanced networking solutions.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, create performance reports, and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Project Management: Lead planning and execution of network-related projects, including budget management and timeline coordination.
