Job Description

Job Purpose:

Support business segment MI reporting Proactively assist in all aspects of Management Information analytics. Leverage software and service inputs to transform data into actionable insights that inform an organization's strategic and tactical business decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Customer Profitability Reporting (CPR) process.

Acquire complete understanding of Business Group Customer Profitability (CPR) process for both WBG & RBG. Ensure all relevant core data are gathered and validated. Build monthly CPR. Perform extensive reconciliation exercise with Financials at each individual GLs. Complete FTP & Liability Expense allocations as per the guidelines agreed. Publish RM/Division/Branch level CPR post segmental reconciliation process (var margin: less than 5%) as per agreed deadlines.

2. Segmental Daily Balance Reporting.

Process & publish RBG & WBG client level daily balance sheet, funding gap, daily variance monitoring and yield analysis.

3. Monthly CEO Dashboard.

To be able to produce the weekly MI pack with minimum supervision.

4. Bi-Monthly Segmental Income Forecast.

Coordinate with business and product teams within RBG & WBG to update monthly business pipeline. Produce bi-weekly business forecast that includes income, Assets & Liabilities. Understand underlying income assumptions and balance sheet drivers. Liaise with business divisions to compile future drawdown schedule.

5. Annual Budgeting Process.

Acquire complete understanding of segmental budgeting cycle (starting from Q3 each year). Prepare budget at division level for the coming year. Work along with relevant division head/unit heads to cascade budgets at product, branch, RM levels.

6. Data Warehouse.

Liaise with IT Data Modelling team to ensure that optimum data integrity levels are maintained within the bank-wide Data Warehouse.

7. Periodic Data Clean Up.

Monitor data quality of the entire client data portfolio, develop control reports and ensure that all new relationship accounts are created with correct static coding at all levels to ensure correct data output.

8. Projects.

Provide support for all BI related projects within Finance Division (excl regulatory reporting) both internally and externally sourced to improve information flow and controls

Independence of Operation:

Exercises substantial discretion in performing duties. Carries out work in accordance with BI policy, general directives, Bank policies and local and international laws. Work accomplishments are subject to general review by Manager(s) BI, VP Business Intelligence and Senior Management.

Accountability / Decision Making:

The incumbent's advice or recommendations can impact decisions made by the Senior Management and reflect on the Bank's image. Although incumbent actions are subject to general review, in many instances the job holder must take full responsibility for handling unforeseen situations, effectively and in the best interest of CBI. During discussions and negotiations, the incumbent may have to make quick, independent decisions.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in analytics or any financial services or related discipline

Professional / Technical Qualifications / Diplomas:

  • High degree of competency in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding database management tools / ability to independently manage large tracts of data.
  • Working knowledge of Funds Transfer Pricing mechanism & expense allocation.

Experience:

5 years in a MI role.

Other Skills Required for the Job:

  • Excellent database management skills and working knowledge banking specific IT platforms.
