Senior Operator

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

-High school graduate or technical diploma

Experience

Minimum of 5 years work-related experience in operating a CNC roll grinding machine.

Working knowledge of relevant operation principles and practices in a rolling mill or relevant industry in roll shop operation fields.

Demonstrated experience building highly motivated teams.

Detailed technical knowledge of the specific process being operated is required.

Skills and Attributes

Extensive knowledge of the use of basic hand tools and precision measuring equipment like micrometres, hardness testers and roughness testers.

Technical knowledge of the use of the slinging and rigging including operating jib crane.

Technical knowledge of rolls and roll assembly accessories, their defects and preparation.

Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to gather data and ability to accurately input data.

Ability to work with diverse groups

Ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
