Senior Payments Optimization Specialist - Global Fintech Payments Platform

A rapidly growing global payments fintech is looking for a Senior Payments Performance / Optimisation Specialist to own card payment performance across the region, based in Singapore.

You'll monitor card payment data and investigate fluctuations, diagnose the root causes of failed transactions, and turn that diagnosis into fixes: retry and routing logic, 3DS and authentication flows, network tokenisation, scheme-level improvements, product or process changes. You'll also manage a portfolio of merchants and own their payment performance, present findings in QBRs, and work with risk, product and engineering to get solutions implemented rather than just recommended.

You'll also stay close to the card-acquiring market: engaging card schemes and payment institutions, tracking cross-border trends, benchmarking competing products, and identifying where the local acquiring market leaves margin and performance on the table.

What they are looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in payment operations, with real depth in cross-border or domestic acquiring — ideally from a PSP, acquirer, gateway, card scheme, or a merchant-side payments team
• Strong understanding of card schemes and end-to-end payment processing flows, fluency with payment optimisation metrics and failure patterns (auth rates, decline taxonomies, issuer behaviour).
• Implementation, solutions consulting or technical account management experience at a PSP, acquirer or orchestration platform
• Analytical capability and comfort in Tableau, Excel and similar BI tools
• Mandarin fluency is required for collaboration with China-based stakeholders and internal documentation.

Implementation, solutions consulting or technical account management experience at a PSP or orchestration platform, exposure to product analytics or data-driven customer success, and a track record of pushing optimisation work through to production would all add weight.

This would suit someone who enjoys the forensic side of payments — finding the point of failure, proving it with data, and staying with it until the fix is live.
