We're searching for a Senior Payroll Specialist to be part of our Human Resources Department diverse team of talent.
What you will be working on:
Payroll Operations & Delivery
- Own and execute monthly payroll processing from data validation through pay run, banking, payslip release and post-payroll checks.
- Ensure payroll accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality across employee groups, including shift employees, technicians, engineers, professionals and managers.
- Administer variable pay elements such as overtime, shift allowances, transport / meal allowances, site allowances, attendance incentives, production incentives, retention incentives, bonuses and other complex incentive schemes.
- Review payroll inputs, employee master data changes, joiners, leavers, transfers, unpaid leave, deductions, reimbursements and salary adjustments.
Statutory Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Singapore statutory requirements including CPF, SDL, FWL where applicable, IRAS reporting, MOM requirements and company policies.
- Manage year-end and annual statutory activities such as IR8A / AIS submissions, tax reporting, CPF reconciliations and statutory audits.
- Maintain payroll policies, standard operating procedures, maker-checker controls, approval matrices and audit trails.
- Support SOX / internal control testing, external audits and remediation of payroll control findings.
Payroll Accounting, Reconciliation & Reporting
- Prepare payroll journals, accruals, reversals, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly supporting schedules.
- Partner with Finance on month-end close, payroll cost analysis, variance explanations, cash-flow forecasts and GL reconciliations.
- Prepare payroll dashboards and management reports covering payroll cost, headcount movement, overtime, allowances, incentives and exception trends.
- Identify root causes of payroll variances and implement preventive controls.
Miscellaneous Payment
- Check and process expenses claims, Internship Allowance and resignee payment prepared by junior payroll specialist.
- Collect and consolidate petty cash, prepare Journal Voucher for petty cash received and provide monthly report to finance for reconciliation purpose.
- Prepare final computation, tax filing (IR21) and payment for resignee.
Systems, Data & Process Improvement
- Operate effectively in SuccessFactors / SAP SuccessFactors and related payroll, time management, finance and banking interfaces.
- Validate HRIS/payroll data integrations, troubleshoot system issues and partner with HRIS/IT/vendors on enhancements or defect resolution.
- Drive payroll automation, workflow improvements, data quality checks and self-service enablement.
- Maintain strong data privacy standards and ensure secure handling of confidential employee and payroll information.
Stakeholder Partnering & Team Contribution
- Provide payroll advisory support to HR, Finance, Operations and employees on payroll policies, statutory matters and incentive administration.
- Respond to payroll queries professionally and resolve issues within agreed service levels.
- Coach junior payroll team members, strengthen payroll capability and support cross-training / business continuity planning.
- Contribute to compensation and benefits projects, payroll transformation initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
More about you:
- Diploma or degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
- At least 6 years of hands-on payroll experience for Senior Specialist 8-10+ years for Principal Specialist, preferably in manufacturing, semiconductor, engineering or other operationally complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore payroll legislation and statutory obligations, including CPF, SDL, IRAS / AIS submissions, MOM requirements, employment-related deductions and payroll tax reporting.
- Hands-on familiarity with SuccessFactors / SAP SuccessFactors employee central, payroll-related data, time / attendance interfaces, workflow approvals, reporting and issue troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting HRIS-payroll data integrity and system enhancement projects is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing payroll in environments with rotating shifts, overtime, shift allowances, standby / call-back payments, transport / meal allowances, attendance incentives, production incentives, variable bonus plans and other complex incentive programs.
- Strong payroll accounting capability, including payroll journals, accruals, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, variance analysis, audit support, internal controls and SOX-control discipline where applicable.
- High integrity, attention to detail, confidentiality, service mindset, resilience under tight deadlines, analytical problem-solving and strong communication with HR, Finance, Operations and employees.
