Primary Function
Surveillance of Contractors/Sub-Contractors implementation of their quality management systems to verify compliance with contract documentation and ISO 9001 requirements. Onsite inspection of piping fabrication, installation, welding/NDE, static equipment installation, and related quality activities during construction and testing works.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and approve Contractors and Sub-Contractors Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for conformance to project specifications, applicable codes, and standards.
- Verify quality control documentation; ensure inspection records and test certificates are available and compliant prior to work commencing.
- Ensure work sequence is planned and controlled via client-approved method statements and work instructions.
- Undertake actual, witness, and surveillance inspection activities for static equipment, piping fabrication, welding, NDE, installation, and hydro testing.
- Review piping works and static equipment installation and dress-out to verify adequacy of construction and inspection methodologies.
- Review and accept, via signature, ITPs, inspection records, checklists, and test certificates.
- Monitor work status for potential interface or schedule problems and apply preventive measures.
- Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and produce daily inspection reports.
- Perform daily piping fabrication review; monitor work accuracy to isometric drawings.
- Monitor installation and dress-out of static equipment.
- Monitor ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and MPI testing.
- Verify traceability of daily NDE records.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Familiarity with construction, piping fabrication, installation, and welding inspection methods and techniques.
- Good level of technical understanding in the NDE inspection discipline.
- Good knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO) and quality control techniques.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and discipline-specific software.
