About the Role
Our client, a leading main contracting company in Dubai, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join their project delivery team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules for complex high-rise building projects, ensuring timely execution in line with contractual and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare, manage, and update detailed baseline schedules using Primavera P6.
- Develop cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules aligned with project execution plans.
- Create short-term and long-term look-ahead programs.
2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track project progress against baseline schedules and identify variances.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, productivity analysis, and KPIs.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate delays.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, procurement, engineering, and subcontractors.
- Participate in client and consultant meetings to present schedule updates and resolve planning-related issues.
- Coordinate with QS and cost control teams for schedule-impact assessments.
4. Claims & Delay Analysis
- Conduct delay analysis (EOT, disruption, acceleration) using industry-recognized methodologies.
- Prepare time impact analysis (TIA) and support claims documentation.
5. Risk Management
- Identify schedule risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Update risk registers and reflect mitigation measures in the program.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Certification in Primavera P6 is highly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of planning experience within the construction industry.
- Proven track record working with main contractors.
- Strong background in high-rise towers, multi-storey buildings, or large complex structures in the UAE or GCC.
Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Understanding of contracts (FIDIC), project controls, and planning methodologies.
- Experience in EOT preparation, delay analysis, resource planning, and earned value management.
