Senior Planning Engineer

  • Location: Dubai
  • Salary: 23,000 25,000 AED per month
  • 11 to 15 years experience

About the Company

An established multidisciplinary design and engineering consultancy based in Dubai is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join its project delivery team. The practice works across a range of large scale developments throughout the Middle East, including high rise towers, hospitality developments and complex building projects.

This is an opportunity to join a well regarded consultancy involved in the delivery of major developments across the GCC, working closely with architects, engineers and project leadership teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with programme and client expectations.

About the Role

The Senior Planning Engineer will play a key role in overseeing project schedules, monitoring progress and supporting the successful delivery of projects from planning through to construction.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed project programmes covering key tasks, milestones and deliverables. You will work closely with project managers, architects and engineers to prepare execution plans, review drawings and technical documentation, and identify potential risks or constraints within the programme.

You will track project progress against approved schedules, identify critical activities or delays, and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports with mitigation strategies where required. The role will also involve supporting project meetings by providing programme updates, analysis and recommendations.

Regular coordination with site teams, subcontractors and suppliers will be required to ensure resources, materials and equipment align with the project schedule. Site visits will also be undertaken to verify progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project plans.

In addition, the role will involve supporting resource planning, monitoring project performance against timelines and budgets, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, planning processes and cost control.

About You

Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture

11 to 15 years professional experience in project planning and scheduling

Strong experience working on high rise towers, hotel developments or large scale building projects

GCC experience is essential

Previous experience working within an engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy

Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar planning software

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Strong understanding of construction sequencing, resource planning and cost monitoring

Excellent analytical, coordination and communication skills

Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary design and site teams
