Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer - Offshore FEED Project

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi for some time till administrative process is completed and the candidate will be then moving outside UAE ( to an Asian Country FEED location ) for 6 - 8 months and then returning to UAE.

The project duration is until 2028 with possible extension.

Job Purpose

The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring the project schedule during the FEED phase of offshore oil & gas projects. The role ensures effective planning, scheduling, and progress tracking aligned with project objectives, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain detailed FEED project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
  • Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) aligned with project scope and deliverables.
  • Define project milestones, critical paths, and key deliverable timelines.
  • Integrate engineering, procurement, and interface activities into the master schedule.

Schedule Monitoring & Control

  • Monitor project progress against baseline schedules and highlight deviations.
  • Perform critical path analysis and identify potential delays and risks.
  • Develop mitigation and recovery plans to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Track engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with FEED timelines.

PMC Oversight / Contractor Coordination

  • Review EPC contractor schedules for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Ensure contractors adhere to project planning procedures and ADNOC standards (if applicable).
  • Interface with engineering disciplines to ensure schedule alignment.
  • Participate in schedule review meetings and provide planning insights.

Progress Measurement & Reporting

  • Develop progress measurement systems and track project performance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports including:
    • Schedule performance indices (SPI)
    • Milestone tracking
    • Critical issues and risks
  • Prepare dashboards and presentations for senior management and client stakeholders.

Risk Management & Forecasting

  • Identify schedule risks and conduct risk analysis (qualitative/quantitative).
  • Support development of mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Conduct look-ahead planning (2-week / 4-week rolling plans).

Interface & Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with:
    • Engineering teams (multi-discipline)
    • Project controls (cost, risk)
    • Procurement and HSE teams
  • Ensure proper integration of FEED scope across all disciplines and packages.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to project planning procedures and standards.
  • Maintain schedule baselines, revisions, and change logs.
  • Support audit requirements and ensure compliance with client (e.g., ADNOC) processes.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Additional certification in Project Management (PMP / PRINCE2) is an advantage

Technical Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in planning tools:
    • Primavera P6 (mandatory)
    • MS Project (optional)
  • Solid understanding of FEED and EPC project lifecycles
  • Knowledge of engineering deliverables and dependencies

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of critical path method (CPM) and scheduling techniques
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex schedules
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments

Experience

  • Minimum Overall 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • Minimum 5-7 years in offshore FEED / detailed engineering projects.
  • Experience in WHT, subsea pipeline installation, and marine operations.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in planning/scheduling within oil & gas projects
  • Prior experience working in PMC roles and ADNOC Offshore projects is highly preferred.
