Job Summary
Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives, contractual requirements, and client reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project schedules covering design, procurement, approvals, and construction supervision activities in line with the consultancy scope.
- Establish baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and planning methodologies in accordance with contract requirements.
- Monitor project progress through coordination with discipline leads and site supervision teams.
- Analyze schedule performance, critical paths, float consumption, and potential delay impacts.
- Review and assess contractors detailed schedules, updates, and recovery programs for compliance and realism.
- Identify risks related to time, sequencing, and interface coordination, and propose mitigation and acceleration measures.
- Prepare detailed planning reports, narratives, dashboards, and presentations for clients and internal management.
- Support evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims through delay analysis and forensic schedule reviews.
- Coordinate closely with cost control and contracts teams to ensure integrated timecost reporting.
- Participate in project review meetings, progress meetings, and management reporting sessions.
- Develop and maintain planning templates, reporting standards, and best practices across projects.
- Mentor junior planning engineers and review their outputs for quality and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience with minimum 3 experience years in planning within engineering consultancy or construction companies.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Excel.
- Solid understanding of project controls and scheduling techniques.
- PRMG is preferred.
