Senior Platform Engineer (Azure Focus)

Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale and evolution of the Azure AI Platform as a reusable enterprise product. The role builds cloud-native platform capabilities and hybrid-cloud ecosystems from the ground up for a large Financial Enterprise. You will be responsible for creating a robust foundation for our application teams, with a specific focus on operationalizing AI services, maintaining rigorous security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure: Architect and deploy production-ready modular Azure AI platform capabilities. Define platform boundaries, service contracts, tenancy patterns, scaling models and secure integration standards.
• Shared AI Capabilities integration Build shared AI service capabilities as platform products by standardizing access to Azure OpenAI, AI Search, Document Intelligence, and other agent/tool orchestration pattern
• Standardize application consumption through APIs, SDKs, templates, and reference implementations
• Infrastructure as Code:
• Define reusable Terraform modules and templatized patterns that provision cloud resources with standard network, identity, security, tagging, observability, built in by default.
• Implement policy-as-code and automated validation to ensure every deployment passes checks for naming standards, approved SKUs, network isolation, compliance requirements
• Provide self-service provisioning paths through GitHub Actions or platform APIs so teams can request standardized infrastructure pattern
• Operate AI orchestration as an enterprise capability with clear service contracts, reusable patterns, release management, platform documentation, onboarding journeys, and continuous improvement based on application demand.
• AI Runtime: Engineer production runtimes on AKS and Azure Container Apps for APIs, agents, MCP servers and asynchronous workloads.
• API & Connectivity: Manage API lifecycles using Azure APIM and Kong, ensuring secure and performant communication between services.
  
  

Technical Requirements

• Cloud: 8+ years experience with Azure Cloud Platform.
• IaC: Expertise in Terraform and GitHub Actions, including modular design, automated testing and controlled promotion.
• AI Stack: Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry and OpenAI Service.
• Networking: Expert knowledge of Network Architecture (VNETs, Peering, Firewalls, Private Links).
• APIs: Hands-on experience with Azure API Management or Kong.
• Deployment Architecture: Proven ability to create professional Cloud Architectures and provide Solutions Architecture guidance.
• Deep hands-on expertise with AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, APIM, identity and private networking.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, platform APIs, SDK design, observability and SRE practices.
• Ability to translate security, risk and compliance requirements into automated platform controls.
