Position Summary
In this role, you are responsible to support quality initiatives at the factory level through process monitoring, capability evaluations, performance reporting, benchmarking best practices and training of GIS and factory staff (Vendor Quality leader, Factory Quality leader and CFI) for the assigned region/country. You will work with a clear objective of improving overall product quality as measured through final inspections, DC audits and In-market reports.
The PQA is the on-the-ground quality authority across assigned factories in Egypt. This role owns production quality at the source: monitoring bulk compliance against brand standards, managing RCA/CAP cycles with vendors, driving vendor capability improvement year-on-year, and embedding best practices and automation into factory workflows. The PQA operates proactively, not reactively, and is expected to identify risk before it becomes a defect.
Responsibilities
1. Production Quality Oversight
- Review bulk production at factory against brand quality requirements and approved standards
- Monitor high-risk products through the full production cycle; escalate deviations before they reach final inspection
- Authorize and oversee third-party inspection activities; analyze results and drive corrective action
2. Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action Plan (RCA/CAP)
- Train the full RCA/CAP cycle for quality failures: initiate, assign, monitor, verify closure
- Work directly with vendor quality teams to train identify root cause, not surface symptoms
- Track repeat failure patterns; escalate systemic issues with recommended structural fixes
- Ensure CAP outcomes are verified in subsequent production runs, not just documented
3. Vendor Performance Management
- Assess vendor capability against defined quality KPIs on a continuous basis
- Set performance targets with vendors at the start of each annual cycle; review progress quarterly
- Produce vendor performance reports for internal stakeholders with clear trend analysis
- Recommend vendor tier changes, additional monitoring, or exit based on performance data
4. Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify repetitive, manual quality processes and propose automation or standardization solutions
- Implement best practices across assigned vendors; document and share replicable models
- Contribute to regional and global quality improvement initiatives as required
Technical Requirements
- 5+ years in a quality assurance role within apparel manufacturing, buying office, or brand sourcing function
- Strong hands-on knowledge of denim production processes: fabric construction, finishing, wash development, shrinkage, and seam performance
- Proficiency in RCA methodology (5-Why, Fishbone or equivalent) and CAP documentation and tracking
- Working knowledge of AQL inspection standards and third-party inspection management
- Formal qualification in Textile, Garment Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience
Operational Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across factory sites in Egypt
- Ability to manage multiple factory relationships and concurrent quality issues without losing oversight
- Competent in data recording, performance reporting, and trend analysis using standard tools (MS Excel is mandatory; quality management systems preferred)
