Senior Procurement Engineer

We're seeking a highly capable Structural Steel Procurement Engineer Senior to take ownership of structural steel procurement activitiesfrom bid stage through to contract award. You will ensure optimal supplier selection, pricing, and delivery strategies for structural steel packages across complex construction projects in the UAE.

Job Purpose

To handle the structural steel package from bidding through to contract awardensuring the right materials, best prices, and reliable supplies are secured for each project.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Structural Steel Procurement Engineer, you will:

1. Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs for structural steel requirements
2. Prepare and issue RFQs to approved suppliers and fabricators
3. Clarify and resolve any technical or commercial queries in tender documents
4. Coordinate with Estimation, Measurement, and Technical teams for accurate data
5. Analyze supplier quotations for cost, compliance, and delivery
6. Recommend suitable vendors based on capability, price, and lead time
7. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions
8. Prepare technical and commercial comparison reports and vendor recommendations
9. Ensure all procurement records, approvals, and communications are well-documented
10. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers for long-term collaboration

Skills and Competencies

Essential

• Strong knowledge of steel grades, fabrication processes, and international standards
• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience
• 37 years of relevant industry experience
