Job Description

A Senior Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing the procurement of technical materials, equipment, and services required for engineering and construction projects. The role involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, optimizing costs, and coordinating with engineering, project management, and supply chain teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for engineering projects.
  • Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers and vendors.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and material requisitions.
  • Prepare and manage RFQs, bid evaluations, and purchase orders.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality, cost, and schedule compliance.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project teams to resolve procurement-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and procurement process improvements.
  • Track procurement schedules and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain management practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective project management and stakeholder coordination skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in procurement within engineering, construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, PMP, or equivalent are advantageous.
