About the Role
The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required to support the company's projects and operations. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies and contractual requirements. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Oil & Gas procurement, with strong technical knowledge of engineered equipment, long lead items (LLIs), and end-to-end procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete procurement process from receipt of requisitions through purchase order placement, supplier follow-up, post-order expediting, and final delivery.
- Source, evaluate, and procure materials, engineered equipment, and services in accordance with project specifications and business requirements.
- Prepare RFQs/RFPs, evaluate technical and commercial bids, and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
- Procure long lead items (LLIs) and major engineered equipment for Oil & Gas projects, ensuring compliance with technical, commercial, and project requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, inspections, documentation, and delivery schedules to ensure on-time project execution.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and OEMs to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Projects, QA/QC, Logistics, Warehouse, and Finance teams to support procurement activities.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier improvement, and procurement process optimization.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual obligations.
- Utilize SAP and other ERP/procurement systems to manage procurement activities and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and company standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Minimum 08 years of procurement experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven experience managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, tendering, bid evaluation, commercial negotiations, purchase order administration, and post-order expediting.
- Experience procuring long lead items (LLIs) and engineered equipment for major Oil & Gas projects, including equipment such as gas turbines, pumps, power transformers, fire & gas systems, steel pipes, valves, control systems, SCADA systems, and other rotating, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
- Experience handling multimillion-dollar procurement packages within EPC, EPIC, or Oil & Gas projects.
- Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration, supplier management, logistics coordination, and supply chain processes.
- Professional procurement or supply chain certification is an advantage.
