Job Description

The Senior Procurement Manager Engineering role involves developing and executing Procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that the company acquires high-quality engineering products and services at the best possible cost. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, supply chain management, and procurement processes.

Main Tasks

Develop, champion and ensure implementation of category management plans and strategies to support the Project & Engineering category. Implement plans which will optimize the total cost of ownership in line with procurement guidelines and policy. Have a detailed knowledge of the category under management to enable pro-active planning and market knowledge. Develop and implement strategies and establish and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure successful implementation and support.

Develop and implement strategic plans for the Transformation program.

Conduct Market research and identify cost-effective and innovative solutions.

Manage The Procurement Process, Including

  • Supplier assessment
  • Supplier financial analysis
  • RFI, RFQ and RFP's

Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.

  • Service level agreements

Use leading practice procurement tools to develop and implement the sourcing strategies including :

  • Drive best in class category performance
  • Objective decision making
  • Category Prioritization (Value Liver Analysis)
  • Porter Five Forces Analysis (New Entrant Threat, Buyer Power, Supplier Power, Subsitute Threat, Supply Market Rivalry)
  • Scope Advisory

Adapts and manages execution of departmental plans and priorities.

Experience

  • Successful, multi-year track record in a procurement organization.
  • 15 years + Strategic sourcing/category management.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills able to construct/execute multiple complex analyses simultaneously.
  • Good planning/project management skills able to develop comprehensive workable issue sets in complex situations.
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Quick study able to gain a fact based understanding of current supplier base, supplier economics and major trends in relevant markets
  • Superior communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel e.g. Pivot table, VLOOKUP.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to Set Operation KPIs & Manage Based on KPIs
  • Market Research & Market Intelligence on Allocated Categories
