Role Summary
The Senior Production Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing all production operations to ensure maximum efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role oversees the entire production lifecycle, coordinates resources, improves manufacturing processes, and leads production teams to consistently meet operational targets while aligning with organizational objectives.
The role reports directly to the Factory Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Factory Manager on all production activities, performance results, and production statistics.
- Manage daily operations of the production department and supervise production teams.
- Ensure manufacturing processes operate reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Develop, plan, and organize production schedules to meet demand and optimize capacity utilization.
- Define and enforce quality standards across production processes and teams.
- Monitor production workflows and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding production challenges, risks, and operational issues.
- Balance productivity improvements with cost reduction initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Lead waste reduction initiatives to achieve minimal or zero production waste.
- Set clear productivity targets for manufacturing teams and monitor performance against KPIs.
- Develop and implement workflow policies and procedures to improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Organize and support technical and operational training programs for production staff.
- Manage the full product line lifecycle from raw materials to finished goods.
- Optimize the utilization of resources including materials, machinery, consumables, and manpower.
- Coordinate all production activities to ensure smooth operations with minimal downtime.
- Make decisions regarding production scheduling adjustments based on operational priorities.
- Motivate, coach, and guide production teams to enhance performance and engagement.
- Implement effective production tracking systems and quality control measures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 58 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (cement or chemical industries preferred).
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing large production teams.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and production management best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong multitasking, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Very good command of the English language.
- Residence in Beni Suef is mandatory.
