Position Overview
- Alsafy seeks an accomplished Senior Project Accountant to lead comprehensive financial management and project accounting operations across our portfolio of sophisticated systems integration initiatives. This strategic role encompasses P&L stewardship, project cost control, revenue recognition, and regulatory compliance across AV, security, ICT, smart spaces, and hospitality verticals. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted financial partner to project leadership, demonstrating expertise in capital-intensive project financing, banking relationships, and multi-jurisdictional financial governance. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this position offers significant influence financial performance and strategic planning processes.
Core Responsibilities
Project Financial Management & P&L Stewardship
- Direct management of project profit-and-loss statements; conduct monthly variance analysis and performance forecasting across all assigned project portfolios
- Establish, monitor, and enforce project budgets; escalate adverse variances and implement corrective cost control measures in real-time
- Perform comprehensive project profitability analysis; identify margin optimization opportunities and cost reduction initiatives
- Generate executive-level project performance dashboards and financial reports for management review and board-level reporting
Revenue Recognition & Project Accounting
- Apply IFRS 15 / ASC 606 standards to ensure accurate revenue recognition across contract types, including fixed-price, time-and-materials, and milestone-based engagements
- Manage project cost allocation, cost-to-complete analysis, and earned value methodologies
- Reconcile project accounts to general ledger; maintain audit trails and supporting documentation for financial audit and regulatory examination
- Prepare comprehensive project accounting schedules for financial statements and statutory filings
Capital Expenditure & Asset Management
- Manage capital project expenditures, fixed asset capitalization, and depreciation schedules
- Monitor compliance with capitalization thresholds and useful-life assumptions across project assets
- Conduct periodic fixed asset audits and reconciliations
Vendor & Subcontractor Financial Management
- Review and approve invoices from vendors and subcontractors; verify compliance with contract terms and pricing agreements
- Maintain vendor accounts, reconcile supplier statements, and manage aging analysis and collections
- Conduct financial review of subcontractor claims and change order requests
Banking Relationships & Project Financing
- Coordinate with banking partners on project financing arrangements, credit facilities, and loan covenants; prepare financial reporting packages for lender requirements
- Manage banking relationships and payment processing; ensure compliance with credit facility terms and conditions
- Monitor liquidity requirements and support cash flow forecasting for project fund requirements
- Maintain banking documentation and reconcile bank statements and borrowing facilities
Regulatory & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax regulations, corporate governance requirements, and banking regulations
- Prepare tax documentation and support statutory audit activities; manage correspondence with tax authorities and regulatory bodies
- Maintain compliance calendars and coordinate with external legal and audit partners on regulatory requirements
- Support governmental and defense contract compliance; manage security clearance documentation and contract reporting
Strategic Support & Analytics
- Provide historical cost data, project estimates, and financial analysis to support bid development and proposal teams
- Conduct financial benchmarking and variance analysis; identify operational efficiency improvements
- Support strategic planning by analyzing project economics and identifying portfolio optimization opportunities
Required Qualifications
Education & Professional Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline, evidenced by university diploma or official letter of graduation
- Professional accounting certification required: CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
Professional Experience
- Minimum 8 years of comprehensive project accounting, cost management, or financial analysis experience in capital-intensive industries
- Demonstrated expertise in P&L management, with proven track record managing project portfolios exceeding USD 100 million in aggregate value
- Substantive experience in project financing, banking relationships, and credit facility management
- Proven expertise in revenue recognition (IFRS 15 / ASC 606) and contract accounting methodologies
- Experience with enterprise systems integration, construction, capital projects, or engineering services accounting
- Knowledge of Egyptian tax law, corporate governance requirements, and banking regulations
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations); demonstrated implementation and operational excellence
- Mastery-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling, scenario analysis, and automation (VBA preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and consolidated reporting modules within ERP environments
- Fluency in written and verbal communication in English and Arabic; professional business communication standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience: Systems integration, AV technology, security systems, or ICT solutions delivery
- Advanced certifications: CPA (Egypt), CIA, or specialized project accounting designations
- Expertise in multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, and international GAAP/IFRS reporting
- Government and defense contracting background, including compliance with procurement regulations and security clearance processes
- Data visualization and business intelligence tools: Power BI, Tableau, or advanced analytics platforms
- Banking sector experience or familiarity with project finance structures and debt service coverage ratio (DSCR) analysis
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools (PMI, Agile); operational fluency in engineering or technical environments

Position Conditions
