Senior Project Engineer | UAE

Are you an experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in managing engineering, procurement, design coordination, and technical delivery across large-scale MEP construction projects

We are looking for a technically driven Senior Project Engineer who can lead engineering activities, ensure technical compliance, manage multidisciplinary coordination, and successfully deliver complex MEP and mission-critical construction projects from design through commissioning.

About Your Team

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will lead Project Engineers and work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Commercial, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, Consultants, Clients, Authorities, and specialist subcontractors to ensure engineering excellence across every stage of the project.

Your Role

You will lead all engineering activities for your assigned scope, ensuring statutory approvals, consultant requirements, procurement activities, engineering documentation, and site execution are fully aligned with project specifications, programme milestones, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and site coordination meetings with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to drive engineering progress and resolve technical issues.
  • Control the dissemination of engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual documentation, ensuring approved information is issued to site teams and design changes are communicated to the Commercial Team where applicable.
  • Monitor the submission and approval of engineering documents, ensuring timely coordination with consultants and stakeholders to maintain project programme milestones.
  • Manage material submittals, compliance documentation, and approval registers to ensure timely consultant approvals.
  • Prepare and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, QA/QC documentation, and HSE compliance requirements.
  • Manage procurement schedules, long-lead items, and engineering deliverables to support project programmes.
  • Oversee engineering drawings, drafting outputs, and document control, ensuring accurate and timely issuance to site teams.
  • Coordinate with offshore and site drafting teams while maintaining drawing trackers and look-ahead schedules.
  • Lead value engineering initiatives and material take-offs to optimize project cost and technical performance.
  • Review engineering designs, installation details, testing requirements, warranties, and commissioning documentation before procurement.
  • Monitor site engineering activities to ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project milestones.
  • Manage specialist subcontractors and monitor engineering progress against project objectives.
  • Coordinate statutory authority approvals and ensure all regulatory requirements are achieved.
  • Identify engineering changes affecting programme or cost and coordinate timely commercial notifications.
  • Support testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out activities to ensure successful project delivery.

Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of electrical system design, installation, testing, commissioning, and current MEP engineering practices.
  • Experience managing engineering deliverables, material submittals, procurement schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements, and project planning.
  • Proven experience coordinating consultants, subcontractors, authorities, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering mission-critical, data centre, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
  • Knowledge of BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or other CDE platforms.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6.
  • Experience with UAE statutory authority approvals.
  • Value Engineering and constructability review experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years experience within MEP contracting, major construction, or mission-critical projects.
  • Proven experience leading engineering coordination on large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of current MEP system design techniques, technologies, and engineering best practices.
  • Good understanding of local and international electrical codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and leadership skills.
