Senior Project Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Senior Project Engineer to join our EPC project execution team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will play a critical role in coordinating engineering, construction, procurement, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities to ensure successful delivery of major Oil & Gas projects.
This position requires a strong leader with extensive EPC experience, capable of managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and interfacing effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

YOUR ROLE
As Senior Project Engineeryou will
Project Planning & Execution
- Support the Project Manager in overall project execution and control.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project execution plans, schedules, and work programs.
- Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and methodologies.
- Monitor project deliverables and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Engineering Coordination
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, and E&I.
- Review IFC drawings, technical documents, and engineering deliverables.
- Ensure timely closure of engineering queries, RFIs, technical clarifications, and design modifications.
- Verify constructability and interface management between engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
Construction & Site Management
- Lead and supervise site teams across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
- Monitor daily site activities, productivity levels, and resource utilization.
- Ensure project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate construction sequencing and site execution strategies.
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Ensure implementation of approved QA/QC plans, procedures, and inspection test plans.
- Coordinate inspections, testing activities, and approvals with QA/QC teams.
- Monitor and resolve NCRs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications and project quality requirements.
HSE Compliance
- Enforce project HSE plans, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
- Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, site safety meetings, and best practices.
- Support incident investigations and ensure immediate reporting of incidents and near misses.
- Maintain compliance with ADNOC and project-specific HSE requirements.
Cost Control & Budget Monitoring
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
- Support progress measurement, cost reporting, and forecasting activities.
- Identify variations, change orders, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with commercial and project controls teams on project financial performance.
Schedule Control & Reporting
- Track project progress against approved baselines and critical milestones.
- Identify delays, risks, and schedule constraints.
- Coordinate with planning engineers to develop mitigation and recovery plans.
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to management and clients.
Stakeholder Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and progress reviews.
- Provide technical support related to contract administration, variations, and claims.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure effective communication throughout project execution.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers and site personnel.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication across project teams.
- Drive continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence.
- Support performance management and resource planning initiatives.
Project Close-Out & Handover
- Support system completion, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure punch list items are effectively managed and closed.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of handover dossiers and project close-out documentation.
- Participate in lessons-learned sessions and project performance reviews.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education / Certifications / Licenses
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- Degree in Electrical Engineering may also be considered depending on project experience.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of overall engineering and project execution experience.
- At least 8 years of EPC project experience involving onsite installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and EPC project interfaces.
- Strong experience in engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, critical paths, and recovery plans for project delays.
- Experience working on ADNOC projects and familiarity with ADNOC specifications and standards is highly preferred.
