Role Purpose
The Senior Project Manager - Airports is accountable for the delivery of one or more significant or complex projects within the airport program, owning scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk end to end.
The role brings senior delivery leadership to high-profile or high-risk workstreams, coordinating multi-disciplinary and vendor resources to deliver outcomes safely into a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
- Plan and deliver complex projects - scope, schedule, milestones, deliverables and resource plans.
- Manage execution across design, build, test, transition and go-live.
- Track progress against plan and budget, managing critical path and dependencies.
Risk, Change & Quality
- Own project RAID and change control; drive mitigations to closure.
- Assure quality, safety, security and compliance throughout delivery.
- Support readiness and transition (ORAT, trials, cutover) for go-live.
Commercial & Stakeholder
- Manage project budget, forecasting, cost tracking and supplier management.
- Produce clear status reporting for PMO, leadership and client.
- Lead and motivate the project team; build strong stakeholder relationships.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Project delivery: Extensive experience delivering complex technology projects to time, cost and quality.
- Methodology: Strong command of project methods (PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, agile/hybrid) and governance.
- Planning & control: Skilled in planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control and dependency management.
- Risk & change: Hands-on RAID and change-control experience on complex projects.
- Leadership & stakeholders: Strong leadership of matrixed teams and excellent stakeholder management.
Desirable
- Experience in aviation, airports or 24/7 critical-infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with airport systems and ORAT/transition.
- Exposure to MSI delivery models.
- Certification (PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM) and/or agile (Scrum, SAFe).
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Project management certification strongly preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, APM or equivalent).
