Job Purpose
To oversee the planning, execution, and completion of Solar PV projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards while effectively coordinating stakeholders and resources and local authorities.
Key Accountabilities
- Have good Experience in Solar PV Projects as a Project Manager.
- Total Project Experience of at least 20 MW with EPC Background in C&I sector
- Able to Communicate with Client / Consultant / Supplier / Subcontractors, Local Authorities.
- Strictly Responsible for Project TimeLine Good understanding of Project Life cycle including development, design, procurement & construction
- Direct the project team to ensure timely and quality completion of the projects
- Experience with maintaining minimum functional specification, commissioning checklists, and standard operating practices for rooftop / carport solar projects
- Working experience of the country's context in electrical norms, renewable energy regulations, construction codes.
- Knowledge of project management, engineering and solar specific software such MS Project, AutoCAD, PVSyst, Meteonorm, SolarGIS, Helioscope, Sketchup, etc.
- Design, develop, test and supervise the PV Solar Plant, components, and systems for commercial, industrial, and government sector projects
- Executing effective implementation / running of the PV Solar plant to achieve greater energy savings
- Review detailed schedules of work, feasibility studies and cost estimates, in addition to benchmarking Solar energy production against best practice guidelines, to ensure the best operational solutions are provided for Enova clients
- Provide inputs in the preparation of project specifications, drawings and tender documents for Solar and renewable Projects, improvement or plant installation work, and obtaining the requisite statutory approvals, as well as providing technical expertise where required to ensure the quality and successful submission of such documentation
- Supervise the coordination of plant commissioning activities, including the assignment of a plant support staff and scheduling commissioning activities around plant use to ensure that systems meet the design expectations of the owner
- Provide technical support to mechanical and electrical design engineers on new and refurbishment projects regarding sustainability, energy conservation in order to ensure the design is suitable and optimizes usage of energy
- Guide engineers in resolving complex technical issues and in identifying control system innovations when required to ensure issues are resolved timely.
- Provide training on Solar energy generation and the use of renewable/ sustainable energy resources to help improve educational levels around advanced or specific energy management practices and to advance the level of discussions with clients
- Establish and maintain good relations with suppliers in order to serve the best interests of the organization and support in the negotiations and cost optimization while ensuring quality standards are met
- Participate in the co-ordination between Enova customers and the team members, and execute customers expectations through clear communication and transparent work attitude, in order to ensure satisfactory completion of work
- Develop a pro-active working relationship with all authorities and assist in establishing areas for service improvement, in addition to representing the company at regular meetings with the client and other authorities
- Provide inputs to enhance departmental policy and procedures and develop / enhance procedures related to respective section and implement procedures and controls covering all areas of energy management to ensure adherence and effective implementation, in addition to setting up and monitoring the required standards for operations
- Preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports to meet Enova's and department requirements, policies and standards, including the preparation and assessment of operation reports
- Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high-quality products / service and a responsible environmental attitude
- Liaise with the HSEQ department for creating standard operating procedures
- Manage the effective implementation of objectives through setting individual objectives, developing and motivating staff / subcontractor, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and the overall performance and to ensure that departmental objectives are met such as higher participation in opportunities, higher revenue generation, effective completion of projects, cost savings, safety and environmental quality
- Prepare the budget for the respective project and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs / revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are realized
Qualifications, Experience, Skills
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Bachelor's Degree in electrical or Renewable Sources Energy engineering
Minimum Experience:
10 - 15 years of experience in Renewable Energy projects design and management with at least 10 years in GCC.
Job-specific skills:
Proven ability to effectively manage multi-disciplinary Renewable Energy projects, especially solar PV, with significant commercial awareness; experience in liaising with consultants and contractors; knowledge of resource planning, cash flow forecasting and project control; knowledge of design, tender and construction procedures; multi-disciplined approach; self-motivated, proactive and customer focused; knowledge of Microsoft Office AutoCAD, PVsyst, PVsol, 3D modeling software.
Proven projects execution of at least 20 MWp solar PV in Commercial Industrial sector.
SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) certified solar PV installer/designer is a plus.
Travelling within GCC and abroad will be at least 50% of his/her time.
