Astek is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of complex web and mobile applications. This role requires strong experience across manual and automated testing, API testing, and SQL, with the ability to work closely with developers, automation teams, and product stakeholders in an Agile environment.
You will play a key role in defining testing strategies, improving test coverage, and ensuring high-quality releases across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Review business requirements, functional specifications, and technical designs to provide early QA feedback
- Define, estimate, plan, and coordinate testing activities across projects
- Create and maintain detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test data
- Execute different types of testing: functional, regression, integration, system, UAT, performance, and security testing
- Perform API testing (manual and automated) and validate API documentation
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend data and integrations
- Collaborate with automation teams to expand and maintain automated test coverage
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing (web and mobile)
- Test mobile applications using simulators and debugging tools
- Log, track, and manage defects using bug-tracking tools, and work closely with developers on resolution
- Track QA metrics and contribute to test and quality reports
- Proactively escalate risks and quality issues to avoid delivery delays
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Proven experience in manual testing for web and mobile applications
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman or similar)
- Strong SQL skills (writing queries, joins, data validation)
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Exposure to test automation frameworks and collaboration with automation teams
- Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- ISTQB Foundation certification
