Job Overview
The Senior Quality Control role ensures that injection-molding products and processes consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. The role leads day-to-day quality-control activities, drives structured problem solving and corrective actions, supports process capability improvement, and maintains effective quality controls across the injection production area.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor product and process quality across injection-molding operations and verify compliance with approved specifications, control plans, work instructions, and inspection standards.
- Investigate internal and external customer concerns, coordinate containment actions, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness.
- Lead the preparation and follow-up of 8D reports and apply structured quality tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, DoE, and risk analysis.
- Analyze defect trends, scrap, rework, customer complaints, and cost-of-poor-quality indicators; recommend and champion improvement actions to achieve departmental targets.
- Work closely with Production, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and other relevant functions to resolve recurring electrical and mechanical product or process issues.
- Review process capability, inspection results, and measurement data; identify abnormal trends and escalate risks before they affect the customer.
- Support new-product introduction, process changes, validation activities, trial runs, and PPAP submissions by ensuring quality requirements are defined and met.
- Conduct or support customer visits, audits, and technical discussions, while maintaining a professional and constructive relationship with customers.
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation, including inspection reports, control plans, non-conformance records, corrective-action reports, and technical reports for internal and customer submission.
- Ensure measuring and inspection equipment is used correctly and that calibration status is verified before use.
- Provide technical guidance to inspectors and production teams on quality requirements, defect criteria, inspection methods, and containment activities.
- Stop the production line or quarantine nonconforming material when standards, specifications, or safety requirements are not followed, and authorize restart only after the issue is adequately controlled in line with company procedures.
- Participate in internal audits, continuous-improvement initiatives, and Six Sigma or problem-solving projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant quality-control or quality-engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; hands-on experience in plastic injection molding is strongly preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of quality tools and methods, including FMEA, PPAP, SPC, 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa analysis, DoE, and control plans.
- Working knowledge of measurement systems and equipment such as calipers, comparators, gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
- Good understanding of process capability, statistical analysis, and basic Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with customer complaints, root-cause analysis, corrective-action management, and technical reporting.
- Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.

Organization Structure and Authority
The Senior Quality Control reports directly to the APU Leader. Regardless of other assigned duties, the role has direct responsibility for escalating quality risks, initiating containment, stopping production when required, and ensuring that nonconforming output is not released without appropriate disposition and authorization.
Working Conditions and EHS Responsibilities
- Working conditions are as specified by the Company and may include presence on the production floor and support across applicable shifts.
- The job holder must comply with all established Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, company procedures, and applicable legal obligations.
- In the event of an unsafe condition, work must stop until the safety risk is controlled and the area is confirmed safe by the authorized function.
