Job Summary

Senior Quantity Surveyor Mechanical is responsible for the measurement, quantification, cost estimation, cost control, and financial reporting of mechanical works throughout all project stages. The role focuses on pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying activities, including preparation and review of BOQs, cost plans, interim valuations, variations measurement, and final accounts for mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documents for mechanical works.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and measurement for mechanical installations including HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other MEP systems.
  • Review and evaluate contractor's bills, variations, claims, and payment applications.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, and budgets related to mechanical works.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
  • Assist in contract negotiations, risk assessment, and claims management specific to mechanical scopes.
  • Prepare interim payment certificates and final accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of cost data, measurement sheets, and commercial documentation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and site engineers.
  • Attend site meetings and coordinate with the mechanical engineering and procurement teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years experience in quantity surveying within mechanical engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, etc.) and construction contracts.
  • Proficiency with quantity surveying and cost control software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
