We are looking to hire a Senior Analyst – Quantity Surveying who will be responsible for providing commercial, cost management and quantity surveying support across fit-out and development projects for our client based in Dubai – which is one of the largest companies in the region.
This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 15 months and is renewable.
The role sits within the Cost Engineering function under Corporate Planning and reports directly to the Head – Cost Engineering.
We are looking for a passionate Senior Analyst – Quantity Surveying about cost planning, commercial management and delivering effective quantity surveying support throughout the project lifecycle. You should also have experience in post-contract quantity surveying, contractor claims and variations, contract administration, cost control, forecasting and commercial management within a UAE/Middle East construction environment. Experience within fit-out or consultancy/client-side environments would be highly advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
Provide commercial and quantity surveying expertise to project teams, contractors, consultants, vendors and the wider supply chain.
Support the review and assessment of contractor claims, variations and change requests, ensuring appropriate contractual and commercial evaluation.
Provide input into project correspondence and documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and obligations.
Prepare project estimates and cost assessments throughout different project phases.
Support the development and maintenance of cost databases to improve cost estimating, budgeting and project prioritisation.
Support project cost planning, budget development, cost control and forecasting.
Identify and assess contractual, commercial and cost-related risks and support appropriate mitigation measures.
Prepare and contribute to commercial and project performance reports covering budgets, costs, timelines, variations and other key performance indicators.
Support the selection and commercial evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers and outsourced service providers.
Provide commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholders and project teams.
Support appropriate contract and procurement strategies to achieve project and organisational objectives.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline.
5–7 years of relevant Quantity Surveying / commercial experience.
Strong post-contract Quantity Surveying experience with proven exposure to claims, variations and contract administration.
Experience in commercial and contractual management of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
Strong knowledge of cost planning, cost control, forecasting, project budgeting and commercial risk management.
Experience within a UAE/Middle East construction environment.
Experience in fit-out, interiors, refurbishment or major development projects would be an advantage.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and contractual obligations.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Professional membership with RICS would be preferred.
Proficiency in CostX or equivalent estimating software, MS Project, MS Office and AutoCAD.
Availability:
