ABOUT THE ROLE

Manage post-contract commercial control for assigned MEP projects/packages, protecting cash flow and margin through accurate measurement, valuation, variation management, subcontract administration, forecasting and contractual records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and verify detailed quantity take-offs and measurement of completed MEP works in accordance with the contract and applicable method of measurement.

• Prepare monthly interim payment applications, supporting measurement, material-on/off-site records and commercial substantiation and follow certification through to payment.

• Identify changes arising from instructions, revised drawings, RFIs, comments and site conditions and maintain an auditable variation/change register.

• Prepare, price and substantiate variations and claims, including quantity, rate, resource, quotation and contractual support, and participate in negotiation through approval.

• Manage subcontractor measurement, interim valuation, change orders, back-charges, contra charges and final accounts in accordance with subcontract terms.

• Prepare project cost reports, committed-cost analysis, accruals, forecast final cost, cost-to-complete and margin/cash-flow updates for management.

• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, planning and contracts teams to obtain records and protect commercial entitlement.

• Review supplier/subcontractor quotations and support procurement negotiations and commercial comparisons.

• Maintain commercial records and correspondence required for claims, audits and final-account settlement.

• Support delay/disruption and EOT cost submissions in coordination with Contracts and Planning teams.

• Mentor QS team members and ensure measurement and commercial reporting standards are consistently applied.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 15 years of relevant quantity surveying/commercial experience, preferably in UAE/GCC MEP contracting.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical measurement, BOQs, variations, interim valuations, subcontract administration and final accounts.

• Good knowledge of FIDIC/bespoke contracts and entitlement principles.

• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, instructions and commercial records and convert changes into substantiated claims.

• Proficiency in advanced Excel and measurement/commercial tools such as CostX, Bluebeam or equivalent; ERP experience is advantageous.

• RICS/MRICS or progress toward professional chartership is preferred.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, reporting and document-control discipline.
