Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of detailed tender submissions including cost estimates, bills of quantities, and commercial proposals.
- Analyze tender documents (drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, contract conditions) to identify risks and opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and obtain pricing information.
- Prepare and submit tender reports including recommendations and commercial strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for tender projects.
- Monitor market rates and material costs to maintain up-to-date pricing databases.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth transition from tender to project execution.
- Maintain records of tender submissions, variations, and correspondence for audit purposes.
- Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors and estimators.
- Assist in post-tender negotiations and contract finalizations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and relevant legislation.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a tender/commercial role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, contract types, and commercial principles.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
