Senior R&D Engineer (AI/ML)

We are looking for a SeniorR&D Engineer with a strong foundation in applied AI/ML engineering and modern software systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building prototypes, running technical experiments, validating ideas quickly, and turning research concepts into practical proof-of-concepts that can inform future product direction.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical depth in machine learning, AI engineering, software architecture, cloud-native systems, and secure development with the curiosity and discipline required for R&D work. You will work across emerging security use cases, intelligent systems, scalable experimentation platforms, and applied security research.

• Translate product requirements and roadmap initiatives into AI-enabled, scalable features backed by appropriate technical research.
• Design, build, and evaluate AI/ML-driven prototypes for usage in security-product use cases.
• Apply machine learning fundamentals, including supervised and unsupervised learning, feature engineering, model evaluation, and error analysis to optimize results.
• Develop and experiment with deep learning architectures appropriate for classification, detection, sequence analysis, and anomaly detection tasks.
• Use statistics and probability to design experiments, validate assumptions, interpret results, and make data-driven engineering decisions.
• Build practical AI engineering workflows for model development, inference, experimentation, and deployment in research environments.
• Run experiments and track success/failure reasons through observability tooling.
• Leverage both AI cloud services and local AI models where useful to accelerate experimentation and prototype delivery.
• Explore scalability and distributed training patterns when working with larger datasets, multi-stage pipelines, or computationally intensive AI workloads.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, QA, DevOps, and support to ensure smooth and timely product releases.
• Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership and customers.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI trends to continuously improve the stack and product offerings.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning within the engineering team.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, AI/ML, or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience in applied AI/ML.
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Go, Java, C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Practical experience building prototypes, internal platforms, or technical PoCs involving ML, data pipelines, APIs, or distributed services.
• Experience in data observability platforms such as Arize or Langfuse.
• Familiarity with modern engineering and cloud tooling such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, experiment tracking tools, and observability stacks.
• Good understanding of secure development principles and common security risks across modern application environments.
• Experience applying AI/ML to cybersecurity problems such as detection, analytics, classification, prioritization, or automation.
• Experience with model training workflows, inference pipelines, and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with distributed computing, high-performance workloads, or GPU-backed experimentation.
• Familiarity with security testing, application security, and/or cloud-native tooling is a plus.
• Experience contributing to research papers, open-source projects, patents, technical blogs, or conference talks is a plus.
