DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide personalized coordinated care, support and treatment for patients and families.
Treat people with dignity, compassion, and respect.
Involving patients in decisions and helping them take actions to support themselves.
Involve patients, families and caregivers by providing them with education and resources for offering optimal support to promote recovery.
Dedicated to education of health professions students, residents and Fellow physicians so they can work together in multidisciplinary teams to provide competent, ethical and continuous person-centered care.
Gives complete, comprehensive pre-employment. Examinations and maintaining a data base for every employee
Functions as a health care provider for employees with minor emergencies, accurately assess those employees who present for treatment and initiate appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic measures according to protocol.
Provides instructions in safety and good health practices and be responsible for immunizations as approved and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and the hospital's Infection Control team.
Coordinates the daily activities of the employee health clinic to allow for routine physical examinations, treatment of acutely ill employees, epidemiological follow-ups, routine screenings for tuberculosis, hepatitis, rubella, and AIDS, employee education, and wellness related activities.
Participates in the hospital safety and infection control committees and interface with the personnel responsible for those committees.
Demonstrates positive attitude and good communication skills with his colleagues and willingness to collaborate and share new ideas in order to achieve better results.
Participates in the education of Internal Medicine residents when assigned by the program director.
Performs routine rounds in the inpatient wards (Extended care unit), assess patients, order laboratory as well as radiology tests as suitable, refer patients to other specialties if needed.
Performs duties in general internal medicine clinics, wards as assigned by the chief of the service and as workload dictates.
Sets up and manages all aspects of the travel medicine clinic by providing a comprehensive range of services to the domestic and international travelers including counseling on safe and healthy travel, recommending routine and required immunizations for travel, prescriptions for medications if necessary and addressing any special travel needs.
Participates in the monthly staff meeting of the Internal Medicine Service.
Participates and contributes to all the Performance Improvement activities of the service
Performs additional duties as assigned by the chief of service (e.g. committee membership.
Treats patients and their families with compassion and delivers person
centered care.
Provides adequate patient and family education in a clear and simple
manner.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from an approved medical school MD.
Two years of residency training in Family medicine in a recognized residency training program.
State board of Internal Medicine certification or equivalent.
Must hold a valid license to practice medicine.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE :
One year of internship
Two years of fellowship training in Family medicine in a recognized training program
Two years of practice in the field of Family medicine and proof of expertise in the same discipline.
