Job Description
Position Title: Senior Technical Road Engineer
Department: Engineering- Design
Reporting To: Technical Manager / Engineering Manager
Joining Availability: Immediately
Job Summary:
The Senior Technical Road Engineer is responsible for leading and reviewing roadway engineering design and technical deliverables for infrastructure and transportation projects. The role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable standards, and providing technical support during design and construction stages.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Technical Leadership
- Lead road and highway engineering activities across multiple projects.
- Review and approve roadway geometric design, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, grading, and pavement designs.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and authority requirements.
- Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering issues during design and construction.
2.Design & Technical Management
- Review engineering calculations, reports, drawings, and design submissions.
- Support value engineering and design optimization initiatives.
- Coordinate technical submissions and authority approvals.
- Monitor design progress and support timely project delivery.
3.Professional Design Responsibilities
- Review Highway and roadway geometric design.
- Review Pavement design and rehabilitation.
- Intersections and interchange design.
- Review Road drainage integration and grading design.
- Review Traffic management, road markings, and signage coordination.
- Review Utility corridor coordination and conflict resolution.
4.Construction Support
- Review shop drawings, and method statements.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements and project standards.
- Support project handover and close-out activities.
5.Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with drainage, utilities, traffic, structural, and geotechnical disciplines.
- Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in road and highway engineering projects.
- Experience in contractor organizations and large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
Software Skills:
- Autodesk Civil 3D
- AutoCAD
- Navisworks
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Infraworks
- Bentley Open Roads Designer (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite
Technical Skills:
- Road geometric design review.
- Pavement design review and coordination.
- Grading and earthworks coordination.
- Quantity take-off and quantity verification.
- BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Technical report preparation and engineering documentation.
- Strong knowledge of AASHTO, MOT, Saudi Codes, and international road design standards.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in highways, urban roads, interchanges, and infrastructure projects.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
