Job Purpose:
Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating detailed shop drawings to ensure full compliance with design intent, project specifications, codes, and construction methodology. The role provides technical support to site teams, ensures interdisciplinary coordination, and manages drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Main job duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop detailed and accurate shop drawings based on IFC drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate drawings with all disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) to avoid clashes and ensure seamless integration.
- Conduct clash detection using Revit/Navisworks and propose resolutions to technical conflicts.
- Prepare quantity take-offs based on approved shop drawings and provide technical input for BOQ validation.
- Submit drawings to consultants, follow up on approvals, and manage drawing resubmissions when required.
- Maintain drawing logs, revision registers, and ensure proper version control in coordination with the Document Control Officer.
- Provide technical clarification to site engineers and attend coordination meetings when necessary.
- Support the Technical Office Manager in resolving design discrepancies and proposing technical solutions.
- Participate in the preparation of as-built drawings and ensure alignment with site execution.
- Coordinate with procurement to verify material compatibility with drawings and specifications.
- Ensure that all drawings and technical work comply with project schedule milestones.
- Maintain strong communication with the Technical Office Manager, reporting progress, delays, and risks.
- Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the main frame of the job's specialty.
Educational background and previous experience:
- Bachelor's degree in civil, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Min. 5 years of experience in shop drawing roles within construction companies.
