Job Purpose:
The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily operations on construction sites, ensuring that engineering designs are implemented accurately, safety regulations are followed, and that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution:
- Supervise and monitor the day-to-day construction site activities.
- Ensure that all technical aspects of the project are followed according to design specifications and drawings.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, labor, and suppliers to ensure timely execution.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Inspect materials, workmanship, and site procedures to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Maintain quality control procedures on site.
- Technical Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Ensure all site records are updated, including drawings, checklists, and inspection reports.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed on site.
- Report and address any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with consultants, architects, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Attend site meetings and participate in project planning and coordination.
- Measurement & Cost Control:
- Assist in quantity take-offs and verification of subcontractor bills.
- Monitor site material usage and prevent wastage.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
- 7:15 years of experience in a construction site role (more for senior positions).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Work Conditions:
- Full-time role based on-site.
- May require extended working hours or weekends depending on project deadlines.
