SENIOR SITE ENGINEER
Location & Working Requirements
Work Location: New Administrative Capital, Egypt.
Experience: 5-7 Years
Working Days: Site-based position, with Saturday work required according to the approved project/site schedule.
The position may require extended working hours and additional attendance during critical installation, testing, commissioning, inspection and handover activities.
Position Summary
SENIOR SITE ENGINEER is responsible for managing and supervising the complete passive ICT infrastructure implementation across the project, including structured copper cabling, fiber optic backbone, ODFs, racks, patch panels, containment, termination, testing and certification & ELV systems.
The engineer will coordinate all passive network activities across multiple buildings and floors and ensure that installation is fully aligned with approved designs, specifications, manufacturers requirements and project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all structured cabling and fiber optic installation activities across the project.
- Manage Cat6A copper cabling installation, termination and testing.
- Manage single-mode fiber optic backbone installation, termination and splicing.
- Review approved shop drawings, cable schedules, riser diagrams and network topology.
- Review cable routes, containment, pathways and technical-room layouts.
- Coordinate MDF, IDF, telecom-room and Data Center passive infrastructure.
- Supervise installation of:

- ODFs
- Fiber Patch Panels
- Cat6A Patch Panels
- Data Outlets
- Racks and Cabinets
- Cable Management
- Patch Cords
- Fiber Accessories
- Cable Trays and Containment
- Ensure proper segregation of the project networks and compliance with the approved passive infrastructure architecture.
- Coordinate installation activities with Network, ELV, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical teams.
- Coordinate with the Technical Office regarding drawing discrepancies and site conditions.
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers, including CommScope, where applicable.
- Supervise fiber splicing and termination activities.
- Review and verify fiber splice records.
- Perform and/or supervise:
- OTDR testing
- Optical power-loss testing
- Copper certification testing
- Permanent-link/channel testing
- Review test results and ensure failed links are rectified.
- Maintain complete cable labeling and identification records.
- Verify rack elevation and patching arrangements.
- Monitor installation quality and workmanship.
- Monitor manpower productivity and daily progress.
- Coordinate inspection requests with QA/QC and Consultant.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
- Identify site constraints and escalate critical issues to the Site Manager.
- Ensure materials are available before commencing installation.
- Control material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Support network engineers during network activation and troubleshooting.
- Support FAT, SAT, testing and commissioning activities.
- Prepare and review passive infrastructure as-built drawings.
- Prepare cable schedules, fiber-core schedules and test documentation.
- Support final handover and O&M documentation.

- Familiar with ELV system (CCTV, access Control, fire alarm,PA,,,,etc)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in large-scale multi-building ICT infrastructure projects.
- Experience with CommScope or equivalent structured cabling solutions.
- Experience with Data Center structured cabling.
- Experience in projects require multiple physically separated networks.
- Experience coordinating large teams of technicians and supervisors.
- Experience with testing, certification and handover of structured cabling systems.

Project-Specific Requirement
The engineer must be capable of managing passive infrastructure activities across multiple buildings, floors and IT rooms within the project in the New Administrative Capital, while maintaining the required network segregation, installation quality, testing standards and project schedule.
