Job Purpose
Leading and supervising all structural engineering activities on-site, ensuring works are executed according to approved drawings, structural calculations, specifications, and quality standards. The role provides technical guidance to site engineers and supports problem-solving for complex structural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise structural site engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Ensure correct execution of structural works including concrete, steel, foundations, and reinforcement.
- Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals related to structural works.
- Monitor workmanship and materials, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate with design, MEP, and architectural teams to resolve technical issues.
- Provide expert advice and solutions for complex structural challenges on-site.
- Inspect and approve materials and structural components delivered to the site.
- Ensure structural works comply with quality control procedures, codes, and standards.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and verification of structural elements.
- Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports on structural progress, quality, and site issues.
- Maintain records of inspections, material approvals, as-built modifications, and non-conformances.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and available for audits and project handover.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to junior structural engineers and site staff.
- Ensure continuous improvement in structural construction practices and team performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural specialization preferred)
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in structural site engineering
- At least 3–5 years in a senior role supervising structural works on large-scale construction projects
- Experience with high-rise buildings, bridges, or infrastructure projects is preferred
- Expert knowledge of structural design and construction methods
- Ability to read, interpret, and review structural drawings and calculations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE – advantage)
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Attention to detail, quality, and safety awareness
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
