Senior Software Engineer (Python)

The Company

Our client is a leading global financial institution seeking three experienced Python Developers to support a major network and security transformation programme in Singapore. This is a 12-month contract offering exposure to a business-critical platform within a complex, highly regulated enterprise environment.

The Role

• Design, develop and maintain production-grade Python applications, services and automation solutions.
• Support the implementation and operationalisation of an enterprise identity-aware traffic proxy solution.
• Integrate the platform with network security, authentication and enterprise infrastructure systems.
• Collaborate with security, network, infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams.
• Develop APIs and integration components connecting internal platforms and third-party security technologies.
• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting and operational controls to support production stability.
• Perform system testing, integration testing, performance validation and production-readiness assessments.
• Support production deployment, enterprise-wide rollout and post-implementation optimisation.
• Investigate production incidents, conduct root-cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.
• Contribute to technical documentation, deployment procedures and operational support processes.

Your Profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Python development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience developing production-grade Python applications, services or automation platforms.
• Good knowledge of Linux environments, APIs, software integration and automated testing.
• Experience in platform engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, infrastructure automation or network security.
• Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, proxies and traffic routing.
• Exposure to OAuth, OIDC, SAML, LDAP, Active Directory or Kerberos would be advantageous.
• Experience with enterprise security, Zero Trust, SASE or secure web gateway technologies is desirable.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes and observability tools is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and cross-functional stakeholder-management skills.
• Previous experience in banking, financial services or another regulated environment is advantageous.
