Senior Software Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced C# Backend Developer with of hands-on experience building and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in .NET/C# development and is highly proficient in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design robust APIs, manage data-intensive workflows, and ensure the reliability and performance of backend services. This role is with the services team based in Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using C# / .NET (Core/Framework).
• Write efficient, optimized, and maintainable SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions for data retrieval, transformation, and reporting.
• Analyze and improve the performance of existing SQL queries and database schemas (indexing, query plans, normalization).
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and QA to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and implement database schemas, and ensure data integrity across systems.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues related to backend services and data layers.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design decisions.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to support smooth deployment processes.
• Document technical designs, APIs, and database structures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4–6 years of professional experience in backend development using C# and .NET (Core / Framework).
• Strong command over SQL - writing complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Solid experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Proven experience in query optimization, indexing strategies, and diagnosing performance bottlenecks.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Familiarity with Entity Framework / Dapper or other ORM tools.
• Experience with version control systems (Git).
• Understanding of software development best practices- unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS).
• Exposure to microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of caching mechanisms (Redis).
• Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
