Role: Senior Software Developer

Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)

Contract Duration: Long term

Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)

Location: Hybrid - Wed/Thursday in Hyderabad, Telangana

We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer with 8+ years of experience to independently design, develop, deploy, and support Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and AWS cloud-native applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience building secure, scalable, and resilient distributed systems and will be comfortable owning solutions from technical design through production delivery and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java 17+ / Spring Boot applications and microservices.
• Build secure and scalable REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Design and operate cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Develop integrations with API gateways, identity providers, databases, internal platforms, and external partners.
• Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Design API contracts with versioning, backward compatibility, idempotency, validation, and error handling.
• Build fault-tolerant services using timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, bulkheads, rate limiting, health checks, and failover.
• Develop automated unit, integration, component, contract, and performance tests.
• Improve application observability through logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to CI/CD automation, vulnerability remediation, performance optimization, and production readiness.
• Participate in architecture/design reviews, code reviews, estimation, and technical planning.
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers and collaborate with architects, product, security, and platform teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+.
• Strong Spring Boot / Spring experience.
• Production experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-native applications.
• Strong knowledge of API security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, authentication, and authorization.
• Strong API design experience including versioning, backward compatibility, idempotency, validation, and error handling.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean code, and object-oriented design.
• Experience implementing resilience and fault-tolerance patterns.
• Experience integrating with databases, third-party platforms, and external systems.
• Strong SQL / relational database experience.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with Git and Linux/Unix.
• Strong production troubleshooting, observability, performance, and root-cause analysis skills.
