My client is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join its Trading Technology team, building the high-performance systems that power the firm's trading operations. The successful candidate will work on mission-critical infrastructure where microseconds matter, collaborating closely with traders, quants, and infrastructure engineers to design and deliver robust, low-latency systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys solving hard problems at the intersection of performance, reliability, and financial markets.
The successful candidate will bring C++ expertise to one or more of the following areas:
- OEMS (Order & Execution Management Systems) – Designs and optimizes systems that manage the complete order lifecycle, from generation through to execution.
- Exchange Connectivity – Develops low-latency market access solutions and implements exchange protocols, including FIX and native binary protocols.
- Market Data & Feeds – Builds real-time feed handlers and high-throughput tick data pipelines that process large volumes of market data with minimal latency.
- Risk & Reporting – Develops pre-trade risk engines and post-trade reporting systems that keep the business safe and compliant.
- Simulation – Builds backtesting and quantitative simulation frameworks that allow researchers and traders to validate strategies against historical and synthetic data.
What They're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience working within a traditional finance environment
- Strong professional experience with modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20) in a performance-critical environment
- Experience in trading technology, fintech, or another latency-sensitive domain (HFT, market making, exchanges, or similar)
- Solid understanding of low-latency system design, concurrency, and memory management
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/UDP, multicast) and/or financial protocols (FIX, ITCH/OUCH, etc.) is a plus
- A strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and systems-level performance optimization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with close attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with traders, quants, and other engineers
