About the Role:
As a Senior Solar Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of solar PV projects, including project planning, site feasibility assessments, system design, installation, testing, and commissioning. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop project schedules, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare communication plans and provide regular project status updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits, feasibility studies, and engineering assessments for solar PV projects.
- Provide technical support in site selection, solar farms sites suitability studies, plant design, PV module layouts, energy production, engineering analysis, due diligence and field measurements.
- Participate in project proposals by defining project scope, deliverables, and budget requirements.
- Create and distribute RFPs to EPC subcontractors, evaluate proposals, and support vendor selection processes.
- Work closely with clients to clarify project objectives, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Assess project risks, challenges, and constraints while proposing mitigation strategies and practical solutions.
- Conduct pre-construction and operational energy analysis, including solar resource assessments and plant performance evaluations.
- Perform engineering site audits and provide technical direction to installation teams during installation, testing, commissioning, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety requirements, and best practices for solar PV systems and projects.
- Create inspection checklists and review completed solar installation projects to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications, Skills & Aptitude
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar PV system design, project execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and operations.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, wiring, grounding, utilities interface, and performance monitoring.
- Good understanding of technical best practices and local regulations for solar project development in KSA.
- Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD, and electrical design concepts.
- Familiarity with international standards related to solar PV systems and plant commissioning.
- Strong communication, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and technical reporting abilities.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential.
