Role Purpose
To ensure that the design, delivery, and functional quality of all retail units within the shopping mall portfolio meet the highest standards, in full alignment with company design criteria and operational objectives. The role supports both new store openings and refurbishments, ensuring seamless coordination among all internal and external stakeholders to achieve timely, high-quality, and business-driven retail delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Ensure that the presentation and functional quality of all stores within the shopping mall's portfolio are maintained to the highest possible standards and are fully aligned with the company's defined design criteria.
- Ensure business-driven retail design solutions, effective on-site store delivery, and minimization of downtime in the income stream as a result of programmed openings.
- Enhance the retail design and fitout process through strong engagement with customers and ongoing collaboration with retailers, their designers, contractors, builders, and shopfitters.
- Initiate contact and meet with retailers and their design and contractor teams to discuss and clarify the shopping mall's design criteria and fit-out guidelines, explaining all delivery processes for new shop openings and existing shop upgrades.
- Share and discuss proposed retail designs with key stakeholders within the shopping mall business unit and obtain the required approvals for related works.
- Contribute to design and delivery updates for stakeholders review and information.
- Coordinate closely with the Leasing team to seek clarification on agreed terms and conditions with merchants and track activities to ensure that tenancy handover to lease occurs by the established and agreed deadlines.
- Interact with internal teams to coordinate works and costs during the store/unit fit-out process, ensuring minimal hindrance to ongoing development projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with merchants and assist in billing tenants for Tenant Variation Request (TVR) works.
- Coordinate with the lease's designers and contractors on retail design matters, condition of premises, and logistics.
- Develop and maintain fit-out and design criteria for all assigned assets.
- Follow up with retailers designers to ensure timely submission of final retail design and MEP design packages for approval.

Strong understanding of retail design principles, layout planning, and fit-out processes
Strong understanding of the Authority requirements.
Strong understanding of re-demising work Solid site experience and ability to review and interpret drawings and specifications
Excellent coordination and communication skills with multiple stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple retail projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
Skilled in sketching, detailing, and design presentation
good understanding of MEP integration within retail environments
