Job Description
Key Results Accountabilities:
- Analyze data of bus running time, and other circumstances affecting the operation of public transportation vehicles; determines bus running time by time of day and day type.
- Innovative problem-solving and to provide workable solutions and resolve complaints.
- Develop and export system technical requirement for the operation of public transport network to the technical systems in other departments (Journey Planner and automated collection system AFC and Automated vehicle management AVM).
- Update and development of scheduling system and all of associated technologies and update its system to include bus schedules.
- Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent to improving and streamlining complex work processes, scheduling guidelines and its procedures.
- Any additional responsibilities as advised by the direct Line Manager or Head of Department.
- Comprehensive and up-to-date information across all existing bus services, covering key aspects of the services, including routes, timetable, fares and conditions of carriage.
- Proven ability to develop quality bus schedules, quality reporting formats, and ability to conceptualize tasks and accomplish them on time.
- Review existing and proposed schedules in order to improve service, equalize driver work hours.
- Ensure that concerned departments receive notification of service change (buses, maintenance, transportation systems, customer service) to ensure processing resources required of buses and drivers.
- Evaluate service reliability on the existing network: this will include conducting field surveys and collection of data from OCC.
- Develop schedules that reflect the strategic objectives of Public Transport Agency including seamless integration with other transit modes as per process.
- Coordinate with managers, staff, and representatives regarding the provision of scheduling information and system improvements.
- Coordinate with scheduling system vendor, in case of any difficulties in system performance on its various modules.
- Ensure the system availability to the schedulers at the appropriate security level (system user access).
- Coordinate with OCC and bus operation; analyses operated trips vs scheduled trips and study the service enhancement and implementation.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Business Administration from a recognized university with 8 years of experience in public transport bus scheduling. Master's degree preferred
