Job Purpose:

The SAP Technical Specialist in Sales & Distribution (SD) is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and implementing SAP SD module functionalities to enhance supply chain and logistics operations. This role will ensure that SAP solutions in the SD module align with business requirements, are fully optimized for efficiency, and support the seamless operation of supply chain and logistics processes. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to drive continuous improvements, support key project implementations, and ensure best practices in Sales & Distribution.

SAP SD Configuration and Optimization

  • Configure SAP SD modules to support procurement, inventory management, sales & distribution planning, and logistics, aligning with business needs.
  • Develop and optimize SD workflows, ensuring effective integration with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, WM, PP, EWM) and third-party systems for streamlined processes.

Project Management and Implementation

  • Lead the end-to-end technical implementation of SAP SD projects, including system setup, configuration, customization, testing, and go-live phases.
  • Design and implement system enhancements and upgrades to improve functionality and align with evolving business requirements.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide advanced technical support for SAP SD issues, performing troubleshooting and collaborating with cross-functional IT teams to address challenges.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure system performance and stability within the SAP SD environment.

Business Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics teams to document, analyze, and streamline sales & distribution processes.
  • Identify and implement best practices within the SAP SD module to enhance supply chain efficiency and support continuous improvement.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand SAP SD requirements, address concerns, and propose solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Coordinate with SAP vendors and third-party consultants for module implementations, upgrades, and ongoing technical support..

Training and Documentation

  • Develop comprehensive training materials and deliver end-user training on SAP SD functionalities to ensure effective knowledge transfer and system use.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including configuration guides, troubleshooting manuals, and process flow diagrams for SAP SD.

Strategic Systems Planning

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for SAP SD and related systems, aligning with broader business objectives and incorporating industry best practices.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning to support future growth and scalability in SAP SD and supply chain processes.

Solution Delivery and Business Analysis

  • Conduct business analysis to identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements within SAP SD.
  • Design and implement innovative solutions to address sales & distribution and logistics challenges, leveraging SAP and other relevant technologies.

User Support and Compliance

  • Provide expert user support, addressing SD system issues, conducting training, and promoting effective utilization of applications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations, maintaining data security and integrity within SAP SD processes.

Budget Management

  • Oversee budget allocations for IT expenses, managing hardware and software purchases related to SAP SD and ensuring cost-effective upgrades.

System Maintenance and Security

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures, security protocols, and backup systems to protect the integrity of the SAP SD module.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing requirements and provide ongoing user training, support, and feedback on security best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, software engineering, management sciences, supply chain management or business, Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in SAP SD, with proven technical expertise in SAP configurations, implementations, and customizations, preferably within the supply chain or logistics sector.
  • SAP SD Certification is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in project management and leading SAP SD-related initiatives.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and integration with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, WM, PP) is highly desirable.
