Acveti is seeking a highly skilled Senior Streaming Data Engineer with strong expertise in Java/Scala, Apache Flink/Beam, Kafka, and event-driven architectures. The ideal candidate will design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance streaming solutions for enterprise banking and fintech environments.
This role requires deep technical expertise, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to collaborate across distributed teams to deliver resilient and compliant data platforms.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- OR equivalent industry experience.
Experience
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on development and design experience using:
- Java or Scala
- Apache Flink, Apache Beam, or Spark Streaming
- Apache Kafka and streaming ecosystems
Core Technical Skills
Streaming & Architecture
- Strong expertise in event-driven and real-time streaming architectures
- Proven experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
- Knowledge of distributed system resiliency and production monitoring
Performance & Systems
- JVM performance tuning and optimization
- Linux administration and shell scripting
- Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices
Cloud & DevOps
- Containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, or similar tools
- Troubleshooting distributed systems in production environments
Data & Storage
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Working knowledge of caching systems (Redis preferred)
- Understanding of data sensitivity and secure logging practices
Security & Compliance
- Experience designing and implementing security controls and secure data transfer mechanisms
- Knowledge of CRON jobs, ETLs, JDBC/ODBC data pipelines
- Understanding of:
- Encryption and anonymization
- Data integrity controls
- Regulatory compliance in large-scale infrastructures
- Ability to identify security gaps and recommend improvements
- Experience ensuring sensitive data (e.g., PII, card data) is not exposed in logs or memory
Networking Fundamentals
- Working knowledge of DNS, proxies, ACLs, policies, and network troubleshooting

- Experience working in Agile environments
- Ability to ensure high-quality architecture and system design standards
