Role Summary
As a Senior BIM Technician at AESG you will take ownership of complex structural BIM modelling tasks and deliverables, working with greater independence while supporting the BIM Manager and mentoring junior technicians on model production and standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and take ownership of complex structural BIM models and associated 2D deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Lead the production of drawings, sheets, schedules, and details for allocated packages or work areas.
- Mentor and check the work of BIM technicians and junior technicians, providing guidance on modelling technique and standards.
- Support multidisciplinary coordination, including clash detection reviews and resolution of model conflicts.
- Perform model audits, quality checks, and warnings management to maintain model health.
- Liaise directly with engineers to confirm design intent for complex or non-standard structural elements.
- Support the BIM Coordinator with submission packages, drawing issue schedules, and CDE workflows.
- Contribute to the training and onboarding of new BIM staff.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
- 2–4 years of structural BIM / Revit experience.
- Strong knowledge of Revit-based structural documentation and detailing conventions.
- Proven experience producing complex structural models and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other automation tools an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, mentoring ability, and capacity to work with minimal supervision.
