Senior Structural Design Engineer BIM

Job Overview:

Alogayell Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer – BIM to join our team at our New Cairo office.

The successful candidate must have strong structural analysis, design, and technical coordination capabilities; comprehensive knowledge of the Saudi Building Code; proven experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia; and advanced practical experience using structural design software, BIM, and Autodesk Revit Structure.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating structural projects from the initial design stage through detailed design and construction documentation, ensuring structural safety, efficiency, code compliance, BIM coordination, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead the structural design and analysis of reinforced concrete and steel structures.

-Develop structural design concepts, calculation reports, design models, and construction documentation.

-Perform structural analysis and design using ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and other relevant engineering software.

-Develop all structural drawings and project deliverables using Autodesk Revit Structure and BIM workflows.

-Create, manage, and update structural BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.

- Design foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, retaining structures, and other structural elements.

-Ensure all structural designs comply with the Saudi Building Code, relevant international standards, and Saudi authority requirements.

-Evaluate structural systems and recommend safe, efficient, and cost-effective design solutions.

-Perform seismic, wind, gravity, and lateral load analysis in accordance with applicable codes.

-Prepare structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, schedules, and design criteria.

-Coordinate structural models and drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, infrastructure, and other engineering disciplines.

- Identify and resolve design clashes and coordination issues using Revit and Navisworks.

-Ensure BIM models are accurate, properly structured, coordinated, and compliant with the project's BIM Execution Plan.

-Review structural drawings, models, calculation reports, and technical submissions for accuracy and completeness.

-Review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and contractor technical queries.

-Participate in client meetings, design reviews, value-engineering workshops, and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.

-Provide technical support during tendering and construction stages when required.

-Guide and review the work of junior structural engineers and BIM team members.

-Ensure projects are delivered according to the agreed scope, schedule, quality standards, and client requirements.

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.

-Minimum of 8 years of relevant structural design experience, preferably within architectural or engineering consultancy firms.

-Proven experience working on structural projects located in Saudi Arabia.

-Strong and up-to-date knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and Saudi authority requirements.

-Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design.

-Advanced proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and Autodesk Revit Structure is mandatory.

-strong practical experience in BIM modeling, structural documentation, model coordination, clash detection, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

-Good knowledge of BIM standards, naming conventions, model federation, Levels of Development (LOD), and BIM Execution Plans.

-Previous experience in commercial, office, hospitality, residential, mixed-use, or institutional projects is preferred.

-Experience preparing structural calculation reports and authority submission packages.

- Strong understanding of constructability, value engineering, and cost-efficient structural solutions.

-Excellent analytical ability, technical judgment, and attention to detail.

-Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

- Good command of written and spoken English.

-Ability to manage multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines.

Work Requirements:

-This is a full-time, office-based position.

-The selected candidate must work from our office in New Cairo, Egypt.

-Remote, hybrid, and freelance arrangements are not available for this position.

-Candidates must be able to work fully within a BIM-based project environment.
